LIGHT FOR RIGHTS - WORLD AIDS DAY - DECEMBER 1st

WHITE TOWN is back to Cut Out Your Heart

After his smash hit Your Woman in 1997 Jyoti Prakash Mishra kept on releasing his music but without ever touching the the hit-regions of his 90s smasher.

But for the beginning of 2011 White Town has planned a big attack on your pop-sensible ears.

Therefore I present to you his new single CUT OUT MY HEART. Take a few listen-sessions to get used to the voice, then recognize some of those bleeps and beats from the 90s  (remember Olive's You're not alone, of Suede-ish Britpop) and you find something you like. Call it retro-pop...after all it's damn cold outside! Enjoy!

and for some pop-stalgia

VINTAGE PACKAGING part I - James Miho & the Generics

These cheerfully in 1968 designed food jars by Champion Papers are modern day graphic and culinary musthaves.
Guided by creative director James Miho, (famous also for his 60s-70s collaboration  with the Container Corporation of America’s “Great Ideas of Western Man” and introduced Pop Art into the ad-world), the graphic concept/project was launched to promote the Kromekote paper which would serve, for over more the 75 years, as the base and starting point for the generic brands of several foodmarkets and shops all over the world.

A simple design, a straight foward and recognisable font and a sparse range of colour sworking together to get an iconic look in order to serve its purpose of selling food/products with a clean and reliable price/quality image. A concept still expanding and growing inventively as when we speak!

thanks to lovely package

Aung San Suu Kyi - FREE!!!

get gazed at by FORNASETTI Profumi per la Casa

Get gazed at by the new collectione Fornasetti Profumi per la Casa. Created by Barnaba Fornasetti, son of Milanese painter, sculptor and interior designer Piero Fornasetti, who is mostly remembered for the engraved-style face of operatic soprano Lina Cavalieri, he put on all kinds of objects and furniture.
This constantly evolving collection consists of several beautiful designed objects like scented candles and oil diffusers, all with a retro-chique grandeur to it  to celebrates the Fornasetti ceramic heritage in combination with both well-known and less familiar decorative images.

To get and to create the essence of essence of the Fornasetti scent, Barnaba collaborated with the famous Olivier Polge, Grasse-born to a perfume-creating father Jacques Polge, who has the indulging scents by the likes of Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb, Balenciaga by Balenciaga and several of the Dior-perfumes on his olfactory resume.

And so they created "Otto" (the eighth variation), a floating whisk of Mediterranean herbs, found at the Fornasetti family estate, the scent wood Piero liked to use for his furniture design and a dash of incense to get a mindopening dreamy experience, so familiar to Piero's creative universe!

And not to forget, for the scented candles they worked together with the respected and oldest candle manufacturer in France : Maison de Cire Trudo

So get scented in a surreal way...and put it high on your Christmas wishlist for this year!
