Besides the great designs of Lena Klax I discovered also these 2 very stylish young fashionbrands at this years winter edition of Who's Next 2012.
At first there is the trashy-neo-modern fairytale clothingline of Ysterike. Bright and tantalizing colors transform the girly shapes and cuts into fun and spectacular silhouettes.
For girls who know what and where they are in a world where modern magic can still happen! Designed by Lille based Sara Lespagnol.Check the Ysterike website for more pictures or send them a mail to get a better view on their lookbook AW 2012/2013.

Not far from the Ysterike boot my attention was drawn by a familiar sight. A stand full of postcards with on them this great pencil drawing of a deer. As I looked closer I discovered that behind the deer there was a modern classics fashion label called Bérangère Claire.
Refined details give the basic/classic clothes a simple but chic look. For people who believe in style everyday and not just to be in fashion. A remarkable detail is that every piece of the collection is made in France! Check out also the great t-shirts, mugs and totebags with their amazing logo-deer on it!
On my way home from Bread & Butter Berlin where I had another great encounter with the people and the golden deer from Mint, I passed by Paris to work/experience the Who's Next/Première Classe fashion fair.
Among all the dazzling creations I saw, I had the pleasure to meet French designer Hélèna Kerbiche, who passed by our boot wearing an amazing golden chain with a black bear on it!
Intrigued and amused by her appearance and her label LENA KLAX I went to visit her at her stand (next to the also Lille based brand origamijewellery).
After spending some time in London, she arrived in Paris to work with Irina Volkonski where she managed to shape here ideas and dreams into shiny objects. Ready to conquer the world Hélèna started her own label Lena Klax in her hometown of Lille, right in between France & Belgium.
Since 2009 she launched 3 collections everytime based around a story, where most of the time iconic animal shapes and heads are used to portray human strengths and emotions. So when we take an overview of the collections Step Up, Rumble in the Jungle and Never mind the Babylon, we can see bears, gorilla's, crab legs and even swan wings combined with triangles and golden stars. The emotions and stories behind these symbols are coming out of the own experiences of Hélèna and are dealing with inner combat, trust, expressing yourself and important people that have made on impression on your life...
The main materials she uses are mostly colorful resin, she molds herself in her atelier/shop, and 24 karat plaited golden chains that are often adjustable to your own use. Every piece of jewelery is made by hand by the designer herself, so what you get is a unique piece made with love for the craftsmanship!
When you come across the jewelery of Lena Klax you'll know it immediately: the eye-catching contrast between the gold chains and the bright colored animals will get your attention even from the other side of the room. The somewhat oversized chains and the way the bears, gorilla's and lightings are shaped give her collections an urban coolness.
European bling with a conscious!
Lovely but lethal, shiny but powerful, playful but with emotion!
Get your own bijoux (as singer Theophilus London and Beyoncé already did) at the Lena Klax atelier/shop in Lille or on her website/shop. Other stockists can be found from France to Belgium to even Hong Kong!
As the fashion fair and fashion week season finally hits off in Europe I designed these badges for my company Centurybox to promote the new colors in our standard product range of packaging!
Every badge represents a new color linked to the fabrics we use like natural kraft paper, cotton, non-woven, plastic,...and oranges (a little joke)...together with playful slogans as :
follow me! tease me! love me! hug me! save me! squeeze me!
After my discovery of the Swedish jewelery label Mint at the Berlin Bread & Butter in July 2011
I was already totally in love with the shiny Deer necklace! I had also put the picture of it in my blogpost about Mint and their lovely and fun creations because it looked so nice!
Now, almost half a year later at the most recent edition of Bread & Butter High 2012, the amazing people of Mint offered me this golden deer necklace as a present!
Truly the highlight of my Berlin-trip!
Thanks again to Tiffany and the Mint team!
And to all you readers and lovers of fine jewelery, check out their website to see all the latest cool things created and designed by Mint!

As I'll be traveling to London soon, this little but very stylishly filmed London Bus Tour gives you some astonishing looks of this big city viewed from a bus. Everything is shot handheld with an hd camera and a DIY 35mm adapter while sitting in one of those red busses of London.
Already a buzz everywhere I just had to post this also. It's just so graphically well done and the striking observations will put a big smile on your face.
Paris graphic designer Vahram Muratayan, began his online travel journal "Paris versus New York" after wandering around in the streets of Manhattan and Paris. Unable to choose which city he liked the best he decided to put the positive and negative points next to each other. In the end he discovered how the differences in culture were in a way smoothly connected and had a -slightly different shaped- resemblance.
Let Muratayan guide you into the differences in coffee sizes, hairstyles (Carrie Bradshaw vs Amelie Poulain or Sonya Rykiel vs Anna Wintour), the Eiffel Tower vs Empire State Building, the baguette vs the bagel, ...some things you didn't even noticed before they were put next to each other here in Muratayan's clear and trendy graphic style.
Take look on Vahram Muratayan's blog for the entire collection of drawings and/or (pre)order the USEuropean edition of this soon to appear book! and
Come and discover here Nicole Miglis, a multi-instrumental singer-folk-writer from Gainesville, Florida who smoothed out the week for me...so my head is full of floating sounds and soft colored tones, a fresh start for the weekend!
Thanks to the incredible team behind Brussels fashion label Sandrina Fasoli, I'm proud to show you in preview some silhouettes from their new Spring/Summer Collection 2012.
This season their playfull minds where inspired by Godard's 1961 masterpiece
Like in the movie the main colors for this collection are startling red and white, clear blue and black, a color-palette we gladly welcome in their creations.
The Sandrina Fasoli touch can be found in the ingenious use of flowing fabrics as silk, shiny cotton and pastel colored denim and the subtle interaction in between the light pink, watery green and sky blue tones that soften the overall look of the silhouettes.
Little details, like the print of three branches or the wavy curls of a dreamy girl, or even the embroided confetti in the sensual transparent fabrics reveal hidden stories in this very female and dreamy but distinct summer collection.
(who blew us away already a few years ago at an Oscillations boat-party)

If been following from a distance and listening to Elizabeth "Lizzy" McChesney, better know as Lissy Trullie. This DC girl with the androgynous look and the a-typic boy-ish voice is going to release her self-titled full ablum on March 6th.
If you are a bit around in the blogosphere you certainly picked up already her Self-Taught Learner EP from 2009 and listened to her guest-vocals on Bad Habits by Pretty Good Dance Moves, one of my favorites of 2009.
The first single to this new album is the single Madeleine, which she sings with a dash of Nico in her voice. You can listen and get it for free here on rcrdlbl.com . But also take a listen to this remix done by Brooklyn's Selebrities giving it all a more darker and pink neon-kinda sound. Ideal for waking up or driving back home after a party on a Sunday morning!
As bright white is the official color for winter, the people behind designlabel The Good Machinery from the Balkan/Italy decided to launch their Uber-flashy handpainted neon animals on the market!
These little statues of lions, horse,s giraffes and cats originaly were made to become toys, but after The Good Machinery painted them in neon pink, yellow dots and even shiny gold, they became limited edition collectibles.
Order them now from the Etsy page of The Good Machinery or go and take a look into their inspiring world on their website and blog.
