Marina & The Diamonds - Homewrecker : the acoustic video

Oh Marina, did the heartbreak finally turned you into a homewrecking desperate housewife?

Thank god for this great acoustic version that came right after the original -more Eurovision-styled- edit.

Like icing on a cake, but with a bitter aftertaste!

Terra Nova by Ostwald Helgason - icelandic fashion in dazzling prints

While surfing and eyecandy-shopping I found this fashion-gem of an icelandic brand called :

This brand, born out of the collaboration of the German Susanne Ostwalk and Icelandic Ingvar Helgason, creates narrative collections with luxurious fabrics and stylish/fun prints.
Classic shaped sweaters combined with drapped skirts and unusual cut dresses who breathe the inspiration of vintage YSL Rive Gauche combined with some Celine-touches.

Dashing, young, cool and above all -wanna wear it all-!

Enjoy spring even better with the colorful acrylic-on-papier-mâché sculptures

Out of a flat 2D paper sheet she creates layered structures that give it an overall organic grown textured look. Waterfalls, strange dreamcreatures...what you can imagine you can see in it!

Penelope Kenny and the evolution of graphic hybrid species

Let me introduce you to Miss Penelope Kenny!
This Australian born graphic/print artist, now lives and works in Brighton, U.K and makes very Darwin-esque inspired art to my opinion. In her work, where she likes to work with old drawings and prints, she studies and explores the world of hybrid animals and their relations with one another. We see butterflies with bird-heads, a badger wearing the shield of a turtle and even a rabbit climbing a tree like a koala. All made in a style like they came out of an ancient encyclopedia. So well done that you want to ask yourself...did these animals once really existed?

Check out her work or even  buy the limited edition artwork for yourself at the Elphick's website!!!

handdrawn and animated gifs by Dain Fagerholm

Seattle based illustrator Dain Fagerholm must had a crazy Were the Wild Things Are dream before he came up with these scary and dark but at the same time tenderly funny hand-drawn animated gifs, which he gave the name "stereographic drawings". An old technique where 2 parallel captured images with a slightly different perspective are put one over the other to create an eye-tricking effect!

Play House with Afrobeta

Straight from Miami...here's the trance-y pounding Afrobeta song Play House...with a delightful old-skool 3D-inspired sci-fi video and ditto thumbing beats.

Makes me think of Dragonette meets The Asteroids Galaxy Tour...
Their Heart-layouted graphics for their EP may look
a bit out-dated...but there is some fun 90-00s inspired disco-noir to keep you shaking for a while!
