Labyrinth BCN Design Studio + shop!!! All things deer and more!
As I was strutting through the digital forest looking for some nice deer-related design i came across the very nice Labyrinth BCN Design Studio. This Barcelona based studio was founded in 2010 and quickly brought together a group of young and up-coming designers specialized in graphic design, fashion, jewelery, art & multimedia!
They sell their work on the website but they also offer their services to whoever is in need of fresh and fun designed website, prints, etc...
Here you can find some of my favorite pickings going from pvc wall stickers to shiny pendants and even miniature wooden crates!

fall in love and be loved by AFRODITE, the new single by Phèdre
A sampled intro full of barking dogs followed by a low and warm man who sings in an almost parlando way slowly bursting into an up-tempo but weird and theatrical avant pop-song! this is Phèdre (from Monaco, oh yeay) with their single Afrodite...all a bit based on Greek mythology and later adapted by Racine...as many background layers as there are in their music!
They love to describe them by the words "LOVE, TEARS + GOLD" and if you wanna try to find out where they come from they will mysteriously tell you they are the "lovers from Monaco, raised in a cave of gold"!
Their self-titled album came out already in January and you can stream in on their website!
They also signed with Canadian indie label Daps Records, who just released a sampler with the up-coming artists of their label! A lot of names you will see pop-up again soon in the blogosphere!
They sound a bit like Wild Beasts but with more fun in what they are doing!

Sarah Ferri - on my own (happy spring Ferritales)
I had seen her pop-up in magazines...seen her on the internet with her strange but fruitful hat on...intrigued by what i read and saw i just opened the album/world of Sarah Ferri on Spotify :

and yes, I got hooked!
Belgian/Gent based Sarah Ferri brings us -influenced by her Italian roots- these happy retro-jazz-swing songs with a dashing and luscious voice!
This will be the year of the beautiful Miss Ferri, as vintage and swing are all over the place. Try to catch her at the festivals or at an intimate concert in Belgium (and soon in Europe hopefully).

Musical discovery of the week : Computer Magic - Orion EP
One of my last year's favorites : Brooklyn's COMPUTER MAGIC just released their first kinda official EP Orion on Kitsuné!
A spacy 5 track album with floating and lightly-glitch-bleeping songs always nicely topped off with the typical vocals of singer Danielles "Danz" Johnson.
A bit Ladytron, some happy Grimes and a lot of space travel...these songs have it all!
